Which one, the British or American version?
If it’s the british, it’s legendary…my brother who doesn’t watch much TV sat down and watched one after the other….I’m also a lost and seinfeld fan…
Mr. Gervais, how I love thee. And you too, Mr. Freeman.
The Christmas specials were some of the best tv I’ve ever watched… and who can forget David Brent’s dance? Hee hee hee.
UUUGGHhhhhh i hate the fact the americans turned it into crap! Obviously not the english version thats still hilarious but the american one isn’t even funny. It’s just like a geeky guy. The english ones like a geeky guy trying his best to look cool infront of people & failing miserably! That is pure comedy!
Definitely the best and the Original :)
If you love the office, go watch/ “Extras” from the same author.. brilliant :)
The UK version is far superior. No one can compare to the great comedic talent of Rick Gervais. He has a knack for making uncomfortable silences funny.
The US version is a funny show, but the British version is legendary.
I say, quite.
HELARIOUS . mind you.. so is everything that Gervais DOES .. xoxox
The british version, of course… =)
The British version is the original and best version.
Brent is god! :P
What, no fans of _Le Bureau?
^ Le Bureau, sorry.
I love The Office [American Version.] I’ve never seen the ones on BBC tho.
On no, it ended. Was superb last episode. What with Jan’s boob job…
^ ...and the twist ending! Such a good twist ending.
I have to admit the British version is way better than the American version.
I was just going through some old bestuffs of mine, and nobody (except me) has voted for http://bestuff.com/stuff/the-office--bbc Then I find this. Well I hesitate to vote for it because I would also be voting for the American version. I admit I haven't seen the US version, but I think the BBC version is fantastic, it portrays a disfunctional office environment perfectly! As an American who loves BBC programmes, I have seen several attempts at American TV trying to 'copy' an excellent British show (usually a sitcom) And it has never worked, there is a different culture, and many of the jokes on the British show would never work in the US (maybe Americans are too uptight, I don't know) so the shows get changed, and the new jokes fall flat, and these shows only last one season. There is also a subtlety to English humor that only certain Americans truly understand, in America I've noticed that writers think that humor has to be "in your face" for people to get jokes. Maybe I am alone in this?
I don't know where all the above came from, but I just started typing what I was thinking, and there you have it! In closing... for me, the only Office is on BBC. Thank you, and goodnight...
Why all the animosity against the States version? I thoroughly enjoy that version! Steve Carell is funny. :)
I have recently seen a few episodes of the American version, and they were better than I thought they would be. One of the better American "covers" of a highly successful British show. Well done Yanks!!
I could not survive without this show! It is always there to make me laugh. I want to work at Dunder Mifflin. :)
